In a bit of a surprising move, the Wolverines added their third commit of the week and the first commit of the spring game visitor list as Trinity Christian (FL) FB Chase Lasater has committed to Michigan.

Lasater is the first full back commit of the Harbaugh era and looks to be a perfect fit in UM’s pro-style, ground and pound offense. He is a physical, tough nosed, athletic player that plays both fullback and linebacker for his high school but is expected to be used primarily on offense in the Maize and Blue.
As for his recruitment, Lasater was very little known on the recruiting front before his visit to Ann Arbor for the spring game. He made his way up north without an offer “100%” extended but once he met Coach Harbaugh, things quickly came together.
“Well it was Harbaugh who told me (that he had his offer). And I asked if he was 100% and we shook hands. I’m 110% committed to Michigan”, Lasater said.

As for the Rest of the Class: Lasater is the 9th overall commit and 1st and likely only fullback commit of the class. He’s also the first commit of the spring game visit but could be the start of a snowball effect as LB Corey Malone-Hatcher, LB Drew Singleton and RB O’Maury Samuels are candidates to drop.
