New Michigan Man: RB Mike Weber

In a surprising move, the top running back in the state and top running back on the board, Cass Tech\’s Mike Weber, pulled the trigger and became the 10th commitment to Team 136 and the 2015 Michigan recruiting class!

Weber is a very talented tail back that can impact the running and passing game. He is a bulldog type back that can beat defenders with his quickness or power, and is not afraid to let the other team know about it. Add in his ability to catch the ball and I think he is a great fit for Nussmeier\’s offense.

The state\’s top back had a roller coaster recruiting cycle after his favorite team, Michigan, landed the top back in the country in Damien Harris. Weber didn\’t feel wanted, and that was clearly something he was looking for in his future school. But then everything changed when Nussmeier was hired and Harris decommited. Coach Nuss saw Weber as the top guy and made him the top priority.

With the increased recruitment, the Wolverines climbed his list and earned his commitment after a surprise visit to Ann Arbor.

Highlights

As for the Rest of the Class

Just like that, Michigan now has the top three recruits in the state after finishing 7-6 in 2013. That\’s an impressive feat for Brady Hoke, especially because of MSU\’s best year in decades and the fact that two of the guys, Cole and Weber, we\’re Spartan leads not too long ago.

For what\’s next, Michigan is done with running back recruiting in this cycle and will turn full focus to the defensive side of the ball with the main targets being Keisean Lucier-South, Darian Roseboro, Marcus Lewis, Asmar Bilal and Osa Masina. I like their chances for all of those guys besides Masina (needs to get on campus again). Also, with Auden Tate committing to Florida State, Michigan may turn towards Grant Perry or another big receiver like Missouri commit Daniel Imatorbhebhe (brother of top 2016 WR target Josh Imatorbebhe) to fill the remaining receiver spot(s).
