Landing a Michigan Offer is “Huge” for 2016 DB David Long

When Michigan was on top of the college football world, California was one of their top pipeline recruiting states. And that is what Harbaugh is looking to rebuild as he has offered his 7th recruit from Golden State: DB David Long out of Loyala HS (Los Angeles).

Long is a speedy, cover corner that can lock up receivers and make plays on the ball. And it\’s what jumps off the screen when watching his film, as well as his big play ability as a receiver.

The entire staff made their way to Loyala High yesterday but since the students were not in school, they spoke with his head coach, Marvin Sanders, who relayed the news to Long that he was being offered as a defensive back.

Long also let me know that he likes the staff “a lot” and that he is familiar with Coach Harbaugh\’s ability to turn around programs quickly.

As for his interest in Michigan, this offer is “huge” for him thanks to multiple reasons:

“I have some distant family in Michigan… and I’m a big fan of Charles Woodson during his days at UM. As for the offer its huge for me”

Before things can normally really take off, a visit will have to take place. And Long is already close with another top 2016 target, WR Dylan Crawford. He let me know that the two are looking to visit together and that Crawford and 2016 five star QB KJ Costello are both “very high on UM”.

Don’t expect a decision to be made too quickly after this offer. Long let me know that he is taking things slow.

Check out Long’s highlights.
