Stephen Herron Flips from Michigan to Stanford

After months of speculation, rumors came true as one of Michigan’s top-rated commitments, 2019 Trinity (KY) DE Stephen Herron has flipped his commitment to Stanford. His departure leaves Michigan with 18 commitments for the 2019 class.

Herron has long been rumored to flip his commitment to Stanford and, like most Cardinal recruits, as soon as he was admitted into the university, he made the move. Though he’s been blowing off those rumors for awhile, you can’t blame anyone for choosing one of the best schools in the world in Stanford. It also helps that Michigan is still firmly in the race for some of the top defensive lineman in this class.

Michigan is in the top two for the #3 player in the class, DE Zach Harrison, the #9 player in the class and Purdue commit, DE George Karlaftis, and three-star DE/OLB Aeneas DiCosmo. Other names to watch during the fall is four-star Florida State commit DE Mike Morris, four-star DT Rodas Johnson, international transfer DT Jeffrey M’ba, and Detroit King (MI) DE Tyrece Woods. It looks like the staff could add anywhere from 1-3 of those options to its already (still) very nice 2019 defensive line haul.
