New Michigan Man: RB Karan Higdon

While most eyes have been on a local running back\’s final decision, it was another Big Ten commit that flipped his commitment to the Wolverines in Karan Higdon out of Sarasota, Florida.

Higdon is one of the most underrated tailbacks in the class and a solid pick up for Michigan. He has the patience, speed and hard nosed running style that reminds me a bit of former MSU running back LeVeon Bell. If he puts on some more size and develops into a good pass blocker, he should become a productive running back for the Wolverines throughout his career.

As for his recruitment, Higdon was set on signing with Iowa after committing to them back in October (after previously committing and decommitting from USF). However, a Michigan offer and visit on the last weekend before National Signing Day changed things and he decided to flip his commitment and join Coach Harbaugh and the 2015 Wolverines.

Height: 5\’10\’\’

Weight: 190lbs

Notable Offers: Iowa, Arizona, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky

Rankings: Scout (3*, #84 RB) – Rivals (3*, #45 RB) – 247Sports (3*, #40 RB) – ESPN (3*, #70 RB)

As for the Rest of the Class: Higdon is the 11th commitment in the class and the 2nd tailback. With his addition, Michigan is still very much in the running for Mike Weber, as well as other top targets Tyrone Whealtey Jr, Chris Clark, Iman Marshall, Keith Washington, and Van Jefferson.
