Inside the Fish Bowl is Walking to a Commit Watch

Rivalry weeks normally bring some craziness to the college football world but I don’t believe most saw what this week had in it’s grasp. The nation’s #1 running back looks to be up for grabs and Michigan State fans are bragging about the past while complaining about the past. It’s been a fun but crazy week. But what’s been up with the top names in the class?:

What’s Up with Walker?

The biggest name on the Michigan recruiting trail all week has been the nation’s #1 running back, Ohio State commit and De Paul Catholic (NJ) RB Kareem Walker. I may have had a little to do with that after receiving some insider information from an OSU source that Walker is very likely to end up decommitting from the Buckeyes and, in turn, would end up favoring the Wolverines.

Well, things are looking pretty good on that front so far:

Though news broke that Walker will indeed take his remaining visits, Scout’s Brian Dohn still believes Walker sticks with the Buckeyes ($). Do I agree with him? Not really. Anything could happen in the world of recruiting but I’m still sticking with my source who told me that they “still feel the same way” about Walker decommitting, even after the George Hill’s decommitment from OSU.

If/when that decommitment happens, Michigan should quickly move into the favorite position.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting

It has been over a month since Michigan has picked up a football commitment (Ahmir Mitchell) but that drought will end soon. I was able to confirm that Jim Harbaugh will be receiving some good news from an unofficial visitor in the near future. But that recruit may not be the only one giving the coaching staff some good news.

According to The Michigan Insider’s Sam Webb, there’s another name that is could also be pledging to the Wolverines this weekend ($). Luckily, I was also able to all but confirm this one as well.

So, expect a great weekend, Michigan recruitniks.

Will that be the end of the good news on the recruiting trail this weekend? Maybe but I wouldn’t rule out some other visitors pulling the trigger, especially if Michigan takes home the Paul Bunyan trophy.

Another Kareem Back on the Board

While most Michigan fans have their eyes on one Kareem in the 2016 class, another just happened to decommit from Alabama and become a legit option for Jim Harbaugh’s first “full” class. That recruit is in-state Farmington (MI) Harrison DE Khalid Kareem.

Most believed Kareem was going to choose the Wolverines when he made his decision. However, he decided to go with the Crimson Tide. Well, that didn’t work out too well.

Rumors began during the late summer that Kareem wanted to play closer to home and that he would end up decommitting from the SEC power house. A source let me know that Michigan was in great shape to flip the four star defensive end, however, it looks like he’s going to end up playing for another Midwestern powerhouse.

Michigan is definitely in the running to land the talented in-state star, but most believe he’s destined to end up committing to Notre Dame during/soon after his official visit this weekend.

Lets say he makes it out of South Bend uncommitted. Michigan could definitely end up jumping back into his recruitment and try to get him on campus to join the 2016 class. However, that doesn’t look very likely at the moment. But who knows. Crazier things have happened on the recruiting trail.

Bringing Home the Pie

For months, Michigan has been the favorite to land and sign one of the most dynamic players in Florida, Miami Senior (FL) WR Keyshawn “Pie” Young. After landing his offer from the Wolverines, I quickly added him to my Best Guess Recruiting Class once I talked to him and saw how much he liked Michigan.

Well things have definitely kicked up a bit for Pie as Wolverine247’s Clint Brewster is reporting that UM is so favorited to land the Miami star that he has put in his Crystal Ball prediction for the Wolverines.

I’ve had Young predicted to end up in the 2016 class for months now but this definitely is a good sign. While I’m not 1000% sure of his addition, because of the few amounts of spots left and his plan to commit in December, I believe Michigan is the clear cut favorite to sign Young on NSD.
