2016 Freshman Scouting Report: Quinn Nordin

To kick off the official start to the 2016 Michigan football fall camp, we’ve broken down each incoming freshmen football signee. That includes their scouting report, 2016 season prediction as well as a quote from one of their positional coaches.

Quinn Nordin, Rockford (MI) Rockford

  • Position: Kicker/Punter
  • Height/Weight: 6’0, 200 pounds
  • Commitment Date: February 3rd, 2016

Scouting Report: Nordin has a big leg and can kick field goals from 40+ yards with accuracy. Kickoffs are Nordin’s biggest strength because he can kick into the endzone for touchbacks consistently. He’s also a solid punting prospect.

True Freshman Projection: Nordin is projected to fall behind Kenny Allen in field goals, extra points, kickoffs, and punts. It will take a great camp and/or the staff wanting to lighten Allen’s load to land one of those starting spots. At this point, all signs point to a redshirt.

Chris Partridge Quote: “Quinn has a powerful leg and can kick, punt and kickoff, so he is going to be able to help us in all three phases. He is very athletic. He was a great lacrosse player and had offers to go play high level lacrosse in college. Quinn will be a guy who can bring a lot of power to our kicking game so we are really excited about that dimension. He is a very good teammate. From what I’ve already seen, from what he’s doing with the kids in this recruiting class and on his visits, Quinn’s going to fit right into the locker room and be a big part of our football team in the future.”
