2016 Freshman Scouting Report: Khaleke Hudson

To kick off the official start to the 2016 Michigan football fall camp, we’ve broken down each incoming freshmen football signee. That includes their scouting report, 2016 season prediction as well as a quote from one of their positional coaches.

Khaleke Hudson, McKeesport (PA) McKeesport

  • Position: Safety
  • Height/Weight: 6’0, 206 pounds
  • Commitment Date: January 27, 2016

Scouting Report: Hudson has the ability to do it all; offense, defense, and special teams. At McKeesport, he was a frequent visitor to the end zone by scoring on runs, catches, fumble recoveries, and even throwing a touchdown pass. At Michigan, he projects to be a safety. Defensively, Hudson’s ball skills are superb for a safety. Also, he can get to the line of scrimmage to stop the ball carrier instantaneously. Hudson can also return kicks and punts with his speed and vision.

True Freshman Projection: Hudson projects to be a safety and compete for a spot left vacant by Jabrill Peppers. Hudson will openly be competing against Dymonte Thomas and Tyree Kinnel for the starting spot. That competition is one that is favorable for Hudson and playing time is still very realistic even if he does not win the starting job in fall camp.

Don Brown Quote: “Khaleke is a unique guy. He’s tough, physical and can cover. He crosses of all the boxes of a football player. Just a tough, tough guy and he’ll find his way on the field early.”

Michael Zordich Quote: “When you talk about a football player, you talk about Khaleke Hudson. He’s a great young man, a good student, and is definitely the poster boy for a Michigan man. Khaleke is extremely well rounded and can play offense, defense, and special teams. He’s very instinctive in the game, he’s smart, and what’s impressive about him is that he’s very physical. You wrap all three of those into one and you have a pretty good football player. From the student side of things and the social side, he is a very humble young man. You would never know that he has had all the success that he has had thus far. We are excited to have Khaleke join our secondary unit and this program.”
